v0.19.0

Alpha v0.19.0

Spectre Rework & Isaiah's Army

What's New

  • Spectre - Coordinated Volley replaces Overcharge — a brief wind-up tagged with an overhead label, then every teammate's bullets hit harder for a few seconds.
  • Spectre - Signal Fire replaces Sniper Mark — drop a kill box downrange and enemies caught inside take bonus damage from every shooter.
  • Gameplay - Isaiah's Army is a new Drive Upgrade — equip it and a ring of friendly drones orbits your ship, picking targets and firing on their own. Lose one and a replacement drifts in.

What's Changed

  • Spectre - Overcharge's piercing line shot retires with it. Primary fire is the standard yellow bolt across the board now.

The Team Pass, Continued

Last release we said the selfish power fantasy belongs in Upgrades, not in a Class's innate kit. v0.19.0 applies that promise to Spectre. Overcharge was the textbook personal power button — you popped it, your damage tripled, your team watched. Coordinated Volley uses the same wind-up shape, but the buff lands on every living teammate at once. Sniper Mark was team-shaped on paper but in practice it just followed the Spectre's crosshair; Signal Fire moves the buff to a spot on the ground where the swarm is, so any teammate looking that direction gets paid.

Cluster Bomb stays — wide AoE clear is a real role, and we can revisit it as the kit fills out. Guardian was already pointed at the team across all three slots and doesn't need touching this pass.

Isaiah's Army

The first Upgrade in the game whose Special spawns persistent allies. Equip it on your Drive slot and a ring of friendly drones forms around your ship — they pick their own targets, fire on their own cadence, and follow you through every fight. Lose one and a replacement drifts in to take its place. Visuals are placeholder for now; expect a proper sprite pass once the mechanic settles.
